Hello, I am Buddy, a 9 year old bay Welsh Cob gelding. I am told that I am very handsome and very well bred. I go barefoot and live out all year with my friend Jewel, a 19 year old grey Welsh Mountain gelding.
My owner says I need to find a new home because she hasn’t got anywhere to keep me if the field we are living in at the moment is sold. Unfortunately it’s for sale together with a barn conversion and could go any day. My owner is also terribly busy growing lots of fruit and veg (I don’t know - why don’t humans just eat grass!) and if she has to travel to look after me she doesn’t have much time for doing stuff with me and I just love going out and doing new things! I have driven a bit and that was fun and I like going out for hacks. My owner usually just rides me in a head collar and she has done a lot of IH groundwork with me when she had more time.
I need strong leadership from you without you pushing me around. Let me think it was my idea to do what you want me to do. Once I trust you I will go to the end of the world with you. My friend Jewel is also looking for a new home and we would like to stay together if we could but as long as there are other horses where we go we will make new friends I suppose.
Jewel is a perfect little schoolmaster. He had lots of experience with Pony Club, competitions and drag hunting and worked in a riding school before he came to us. He tells me he also drives. He has a pink eye and muzzle and needs some care during the summer to prevent problems with sunburn.
