‘Antics’ is a Witney based charity that started in August 2003 and became registered in February 2004 (Charity Number: 1102359). The charity has the specific aim to raise money for children aged 18 years and under, affected by cancer. This can be a child who is in active treatment for cancer; or who has a sibling or parent in active treatment for cancer; or who has suffered bereavement of a parent or sibling through cancer.

With the money raised through the charity, we intend to provide funds locally and nationally by way of grant aid or through the purchase of goods or for social needs such as a relief break for the child.

The charity raises money for children affected by cancer through our skewbald stallion named ‘Antics’. One source of ‘income’ for the charity is the stud fees generated by Antics. We also hold other fund raising events, throughout the year.

In March 2004 the children of Cokethorpe School held a Charity Day to raise money for Antics. Antics, our charity horse went to meet the children when the school presented us with a cheque for £800.

Through our various fundraisers like our Summer Barbecue, Summer Ball, Christmas party and the kindness of people who have raised money through gaining sponsorships by taking part in various challenges such as running the London Marathon and doing parachute jumps, we have raised over £38,000 in our first couple of years.

Our next Summer Ball will be on 6th September 2008 at the Stratford Holiday Inn (Formally The Stratford Moat House).

Tickets are £45 each which includes a superb three-course meal with wine and afterwards you can dance 'til you drop, or 2am - whichever comes sooner! It's a black tie do, so a great excuse to get all dressed up.

You can buy one ticket at £45 or why not get a group of 10 friends together and buy a table? Rooms are available at the Moat House Hotel or there are a wide range of hotels in the town to suit all budgets - a list will be sent with tickets.
